GSM Subscribers To Pay More For Data From Dec 1st. (1.5gib Now 3k) Read full story here>>>>>>>

Subscribers of the Global System of Mobile telecommunications across the country would pay more for data with effect from December 1, 2016, The PUNCH learnt on Monday.

Although the telecoms companies declined to speak on the matter, top management workers across the networks confirmed the story to our correspondent, saying that the directive was from the Nigerian Communications Commission.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a senior management employee of Etisalat Nigeria said,

“The NCC issued the directive late last week on the orders of the Federal Government. We have not announced it yet because most of the major telcos have been meeting the NCC on how to reverse this policy, because it will be too harsh for Nigerians.

“However, we further gathered that the Federal Government took the decision having discovered that data rates are very low-priced in Nigeria, compared to other countries, including nearby African countries.

“The government might have also taken the decision given that Nigerian subscribers have been kicking against the proposed nine per cent Communication Tax, whose bill is currently in the National Assembly.”

Pleading not to be mentioned, an employee of MTN said,

“What this means is that MTN, Airtel, Etisalat And Globacom will increase their data rates as from December 1, 2016. A data plan of N1,000 for 1.5 Gigabytes will now be increased to N3,000 at N1,000 per 500 Megabytes.”

In text messages sent out to its subscribers, MTN, Africa’s mobile telecommunications giant, confirmed that it had agreed to implement the directive of the NCC.

The MTN text read, “Dear customer, please be informed that from 1st of December, some MTN data tariffs will be increased to reflect the new rates set by the NCC for operators. Thank you.”

The PUNCH could not obtain an official response from the NCC at of the time of filing this report.

However, a representative of the commission said that the telecoms regulator was unaware of such plans by the operators, even as she said her bosses had claimed ignorance of the circulated message.

“We are unaware of it. I just asked my bosses; they are unaware. We will forward your query to MTN for appropriate attention,” she said over the telephone.

However, in a letter by the NCC to the operators sighted by our correspondent, the commission stated,

“This rate will subsist pending the finalisation of the study on the determination of cost-based pricing for retail broadband and data services in Nigeria.

“In order to provide a level playing field for all operators in the industry, small operators and new entrants to acquire market share and operate profitably, small operators and new entrants are hereby exempted from the price floor for data services.”

It added, “For the avoidance of doubt a small operator is one that has less than 7.5 per cent market share and a new entrant is an operator that has operated less than three years in the market.

“All operators are to ensure that subscribers are not automatically migrated to pay-as-you-go platform.

“Also, note that effective date for the interim price floor is December 1, 2016.”

Reacting to the development, the President, National Association of Telecommunications Subscribers, Mr. Adeolu Ogunbanjo, said that the NCC representative was being economical with the truth.

He said that for MTN to have sent out millions of text messages to its subscribers “clearly shows that the NCC indeed issued the directive.”

Ogunbanjo, however, said that the association would resist the tariff hike, adding,

“We will challenge it in court. We are going right away to set the machinery in motion. We are also going to do an urgent letter to the NCC Executive Vice Chairman, Prof. Umar Danbatta, which we will drop in his e-mail box.

“Unfortunately, the notice is short; yet the order will take effect from December 1. It is not just good for broadband penetration, whatever the reason may be. It is against telecoms subscribers.”

According to him, data availability means more youth engagement because they use data to develop apps and build software.

“But with what the NCC has done, these boys who develop apps will be slowed down and limited. The cost of doing business will also increase,” he added.

SPORT: ‘Jose Mourinho is trying to get sacked at Manchester United’ See Why Here>>>>

Jose Mourinho is trying to get himself sacked at Manchester United, according to Sky Sports pundit Tony Gale.

manchester-united-v-stoke-city-premier-league

The 53-year-old faces a two-game ban after being charged with improper conduct by the Football Association following his dismissal in the first half of Manchester United’s draw against West Ham on Sunday.

Mourinho kicked a water bottle in anger after Paul Pogba was given a yellow card for diving out of the way of Mark Noble’s challenge, and the United boss was sent to the stands for the second time this season by referee Jon Moss.

And Gale believes the Portuguese’s antics are a signal of his desire to quit Old Trafford just six months after taking the job.

‘My interpretation of Jose’s actions at the weekend is that he wants out of the job,’ said the former West Ham defender.

‘He looks like a man that wants to get sacked. I can’t really understand what is going on with him.’

TIPS: Here Are 5 ways to stay attractive to your partner>>>>>>

Healthy-Lifestyle-tips.jpg

How often in the course of our lives do we hear that you never get a second chance to make a first impression? It’s drummed into us before we go on job interviews and blind dates. Rightly or wrongly, we judge, and are judged, by that impression. What we see matters.

couple1

Remember when you first met your partner? Did you find them physically attractive? For most of us, the answer is yes. It is one of the primary reasons given for deciding to date a particular person in the first place.

When you first became involved, you probably gave a lot of thought to what you would wear and how you would look before stepping out the door to meet your special someone. Movies and television show the importance of a relationship by how many changes of clothes a character goes through before finding the perfect outfit that makes them irresistible.

The importance of physical attraction

It should, therefore, come as no surprise that physical attractiveness is recognised as an emotional need for many people, especially men. This desire to be found attractive drives the beauty, diet and plastic surgery industries. So why is it thought to be a superficial desire once you are a part of an established couple? If what your partner looked like was a key part of what made you interested in them, why shouldn’t it still matter years later?

The expression, familiarity breeds contempt, comes to mind. A certain level of relaxation in your own home is to be expected, but it’s a fine line into no longer making an effort to take care of yourself. It also puts you or your partner in a difficult position.

What your partner won’t say

It is very difficult to tell your partner that you no longer find them attractive. Most of us recognize that is a hurtful statement and you undoubtedly still love many things about your partner. You might make subtle efforts–buy them a new outfit, invite them to the gym with you, misplace their favorite pair of sweats, etc. You might even make specific requests on some occasions–asking your partner to shave, wear the blue dress or skip the second helping so you can have leftovers for lunch. But usually, you don’t get more direct than that because you don’t want to hurt their feelings.

Unfortunately, subtle doesn’t often work. You’re left with the choice of being direct, and hurting your partner’s feelings, or not saying anything and getting frustrated. The problem with the latter is that your frustration will come out anyway. You will look for ways to avoid being in intimate situations with your partner, your relationship will suffer, and your partner won’t have a clue.

What you both should be doing is what you did when you first met–bringing your best physical self to the relationship by:

1. Taking care of yourself physically
No matter what your age, you can be healthy. Healthy people are attractive people. This means caring about your weight, your diet, your level of exercise and amount of sleep you get. Normal aging and body changes due to pregnancy or other physical conditions are to be expected and respected.

2. Practicing good hygiene
Bathing regularly, brushing your teeth, shaving, etc., should be no brainers. It is a matter of respect to your partner and your relationship. No one wants to cuddle up to someone who smells.

3. Taking an effort with your appearance
Get out of your old sweats and dirty jeans. Put on a nice shirt, some makeup or perfume. If you dress nicely for others, doesn’t your partner deserve the same care?

4. Honouring reasonable requests from your partner
Wearing the cologne or hairstyle your spouse finds attractive is about doing something loving for them. Dressing nicely or leaving the baseball cap at home when you go to dinner may be the same. Small gestures that cost you little can have big payoffs in how your partner feels about you and the relationship.

5. Stopping annoying habits
Again, there should be some ability to be “off” in your home, but when you live with someone else, letting it all hang out may be problematic. Leaving the room when you need to pass gas, chewing with your mouth closed, scratching your private parts in private, drinking milk out of a glass and not the carton, will go a long way to remaining attractive in your partner’s eyes.

olamide-lilkesh

Olamide has finally set the records straight concerning his protege Lil Kesh’s label, YAGI.

Recall that after Kesh floated his own label, YAGI, he took to his Instagram to confirm his company, however added that he maintains YBNL as only his personal manager. Olamide later confirmed same in chat with TVC.

But the YBNL boss is shedding new light on their relationship.

In an interview with Soundcity 98.5 Fm, Olamide puts it point blank: Lil Kesh never left; he simply was given a room to create under the parent company that launched his career.

This clarification came after the interviewer Moet Abebe says that she is impressed with Olamide retaining his bond with Lil Kesh even though the younger rapper had ventured out on his own.

“Lil Kesh is still with us, but he’s got his own label,” Olamide interrupted her, adding for clarification, “The label (YAGI) is under YBNL.”
